The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commiserated with a former deputy governor of the state, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, over the death of her only son, Oluwafemi

Oluwafemi, a UK-based medical doctor, reportedly died early Wednesday after a surgical procedure in Dubai, UAE.

Reacting on Friday, the APC Publicity Secretary, Mr Seye Oladejo, said the party received the news with shock and deep sadness.

Oladejo said: “This is a very painful and devastating loss. We mourn with Princess Orelope-Adefulire and her entire family. We share in their grief at this difficult time.

“The entire party is in a state of mourning; we are devastated by this sad news.

“We can only pray to God to strengthen the members of the family. The exit of the young man is a huge loss to the entire political family.”

Oladejo prayed for strength for the former deputy governor, asking God to grant the rest of the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Orelope-Adefulire served as Deputy Governor from 2011 to 2015 under former Governor Babatunde Fashola.

She is currently the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Sustainable Development Goals.

She remains a key APC figure in Alimosho and a member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.
