The management of Kwara United has announced the dropping of 17 players and retaintion of 22 players from the group that represented the club last season in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The Secretary of the club, Elder Dele Oguntokun, in a statement on Thursday said the technical crew has informed the management of their decision to drop the players.
“The Technical Crew has given us the list of players they want to work with next season. We (Management) have given them the free hand to operate and take a decision to ensure they are successful at the end of the current season”
“We are determined to do well this season, enhence the need to drop these players and move on” the statement said.
The statement thank the dropped players for helping the team return to its rightful place, and wish them success in their future endeavours.
The statement added that, the players were dropped because of the ongoing restructuring in the club and not because they are not good.
Oguntokun pledged that the club would assist the dropped players whenever the club’s service is needed to help their career.
