The Kwara State Hospital Management Board has donated gadgets worth N100,000 to the Nursing Department of the General Hospital Ilorin, to appreciate the commitment of its staff to duties, and to promote their working condition.

Dr Abdulraheem Malik, the Executive Secretary of the Board, who spoke during the presentation of microwaves, said the gesture was also aimed at spurring the officers to do more.

Malik said it was imperative to always reward hard work and efficiency on the part of workers to motivate higher outputs and set a good example, asking them to continue to offer their best in the life-saving services in the state.

He said the board would continue to prioritize the welfare of healthcare givers whom he said were making vital contributions to the survival of human society.

He praised the government for investing hugely in the health sector, a step he noted had gone a long way in promoting the citizens’ access to quality healthcare services.

Also, Dr. Ahmed Abdulkadir, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the executive secretary for his generosity and promised to ensure that the benefitting unit used the device for the intended purpose.

He also tasked the staff to reciprocate the kind gesture by rededicating themselves to their duties, to complement the government’s efforts.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kazim, the Head of Nursing Department, commended the Executive Secretary for the donation, noting that the action formed a part of good leadership quality.

Hospital Management Board is an establishment of government that supervises all secondary healthcare centers within the state, including the General Hospital Ilorin.
