The Speaker of Kogi House of Assembly, Aliyu Umar Yusuf on Sunday,  commiserated with the State Government, Ebira people and Nigerians over the demise of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim.

The paramount ruler had reportedly died at the age of 95 at around 2.00. a.m. of Sunday in an undisclosed Hospital in Abuja, where had been on treatment over an age related ailment.

The speaker  in a statement  in Lokoja by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, described the Ohinoyi’s  death as a huge blow to the entire nation in view of his place  in national history.

“The deceased Royal Father was a man of peace, love, bravery and the definition of true royalty in modern times.  The state will  miss his wisdom, tenacity and unifying disposition.

“My sincere condolences go to our dearest Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, government and people of Kogi and Nigerians as a whole over the huge loss, ” he said.

Yusuf also used the opportunity to commiserate with his colleagues at both the state and national assemblies from the central senatorial district, and prayed to Allah to grant the Ohinoyi  eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

While admonishing the family and loved ones to accept his death as the will of God, the speaker prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He, however, called on Nigerians to pray for the repose of the soul of the late traditional ruler.
