Sequel to the successful conducts of its governorship primary elections for the 2023 off-cycle polls in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States, the All Progressives Congress has forwarded list of those who emerged as governorhsip candidates in these states to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, which was duly received on Monday, April 17, 2023, APC listed Chief Timipre Sylva (Bayelsa State), Senator Hope Uzodimma (Imo State) and Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi State) as governorship candidates for the forthcoming elections.
The letter, signed by the APC Acting National Chairman, who also doubles as the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, and its National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, also sought the attention of the Director, Elections and Party Monitoring of the electoral umpire.
Titled, “Forwarding of the List of Party Gubernatorial Candidates for Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States,” the letter reads, “We write to forward the under-listed list of our party’s candidates to your commission for the 2023 off-season Gubernatorial Elections.
“His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva – Bayelsa State; His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma – Imo State; Ahmed Usman Ododo – Kogi State.
“Above is for your information and necessary action, please.”
