Kogi, Bayelsa guber polls hold Nov 21, Dec 5

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 21 and December 5 for Kogi and Bayelsa states governorship elections.
A statement by the Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee of the electoral body, Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, revealed that final notices of the elections shall be issued on August 23 and September 5 respectively “in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended)”.
In Kogi, campaigns by political parties shall commence on July 24 and end on November 19 while in Bayelsa, campaigns shall commence on September 6 and end on December 3.
In Kogi, conduct of party primaries to nominate candidates shall be between August 25 and September 15 while in Bayelsa, it shall be between September 7 and 30.
The last day for the submission of the names of candidates and running mates by political parties for Kogi State shall be November 14 while it is October 7 for Bayelsa State.
