Kidnappers of Adamawa APC chairman demand N20m ransom

Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of the chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Demsa Local Government, Mr Hamidu Mijinyawa, by gunmen.
The command Public Relations Officer, SP Othman Abubakar, who confirmed the development in Yola, said Mijinyawa was abducted in the early hours of Wednesday.
Abubakar said the command had swung into action,  with support from Inspector General of Police Rapid Response Team, to rescue the abducted chairman.
Abubakar, who did not give details, called for calm and support from the public.
An APC officials from Demsa, Mr Mark Dauda, told newsmen that the kidnappers had made contact, demanding for N20 million as ransom.
Meanwhile, Governor Muhammadu Bindow’s campaign team has arrived Demsa.
