stephen_keshiThe Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi, has declared his displeasure on the medical report sent to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by Chelsea FC team doctors pronouncing Eagles mercurial striker Victor Moses unfit for both the June 5 World Cup qualifiers against the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the FIFA Confederation Cup also in June.

One of Nigeria’s reliable strikers who would have made the trip to Kenya for a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifiers an easy one, Victor Moses, has been ruled out of the trip to Nairobi where the Super Eagles have been scheduled to battle against the Harambee Stars on June 5.

Eagles chief coach expressed his disappointment that the Chelsea player did not inform him earlier about this development as he already had him in his plans for the bumper June matches.

He however maintained that despite Moses absence, the Eagles have the players to deliver the World Cup ticket and to make the country proud in Brazil at the FIFA Confederation Cup.”

An official of the Nigeria Football Federation disclosed that, the team got received the news from Chelsea FC of England team doctors who said the Nigerian player should be excused from the June 5 match and also the FIFA Confederation Cup which has been slated for Brazil also in June.

The Chelsea doctors informed that Moses won’t be available so as to treat a recurring injury, he will therefore not be fit in time for the World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup in Brazil next month.

However, the London club said Victor Moses will be with them at their pre-season tour of USA to be monitored by closely by doctors, but would not participate in the tour.

Since after the 2013 African Nations Cup in South Africa, Moses have been nursing an ankle injury. He also managed to play in the final match against Burkina Faso where it was evident that he was not fit.

The star player did not also feature in the Europa League Cup final against Benfica which the Blues won. He only showed up with compatriot Mikel Obi for the trophy celebration.
