Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), on his 85th birthday.
Kalu, in a statement personally signed by him on Monday, described Babangida as a respected elder statesman who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria.
He noted that the former military president has remained committed to the unity and progress of the country, even several years after leaving office.
According to Kalu, Babangida’s experience in leadership and understanding of Nigeria’s political history have continued to make his views relevant in national conversations.
He said: “I congratulate former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on his 85th birthday.
“General Babangida served Nigeria in different capacities and has remained committed to the peace, unity and progress of our country.
“At 85, he has every reason to thank God for a life of service and accomplishment. His wealth of experience and knowledge of our country remain valuable to the younger generation of leaders.
“On behalf of my family and the people of Abia North Senatorial District, I wish him a happy birthday and many more years in good health and peace of mind.”
Kalu prayed that God would continue to strengthen the former military president and grant him long life and good health.
