Former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has described the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa 11, as a strong advocate of peace whose demise is a big blow to the nation.
He acknowledged the role played by the late traditional ruler in promoting unity among Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, political and religious divides.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said the passing away of the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Muhammadu Chindo Yamusa 11, was painful and unfortunate, considering his patriotic contribution to nation-building through his counsel on peace and unity. He was a selfless leader who used his position to advance the cause of his people. The late emir was humble, friendly and humane. I join his family, associates and friends, in celebrating the remarkable life of a man of honour”.
“His 37-year reign brought unprecedented development to Keffi and its environs”, Kalu added.
The former governor urged the deceased’s family to sustain the good legacy of the late emir.
While commiserating with the government and people of Nasarawa State and the Keffi Emirate Council, Kalu prayed God to grant the late monarch a blissful rest and also give his family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
