The daughter of the Federal High Court Judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, Aribemchukwu is dead. She was suspected to have been murdered and her remains dumped in her parents Parkview Estate in Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

Aribemchukwu whose lifeless body was found at the residence entrance was murder in a suspicious circumstance on Wednesday, July 3.

Soboma Ajumogobia, who fathered the deceased is the younger brother of a former Minister of State for Petroleum and later a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia.

The mother is a federal high court judge who was tried in court for more than two years when she was accused of taken graft as a sitting judge, but was vindicated when she was absolved by the court of the charges pressed against her by anti graft agency.

Unconfirmed information stated newly employed domestic staff, who had been with the family for less than a month, may be behind the dastard act. It was said the suspect may have allegedly staged the crime scenario to appear as if Chukwu was outside the house when the incident occurred.

Already the police command in Lagos has confirmed some arrest, while investigation is on going.

It was learnt that evidence gathered suggests an attempt to clean up blood inside the house and within the compound, pointing to a different narrative.

It was revealed by a source that: “Her body was discovered this morning outside the gate to their house. It would appear that new household staff might have been responsible and tried to stage it as if she was outside when it happened.

“However, signs of an attempt to clean up blood inside the house and in the compound tell a different story.”

Meanwhile, when contacted, Lagos State Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that three domestic staff have been arrested in connection with the death.

“Three domestic staff have been arrested and handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, which has since taken over the investigation.”
