Jigawa: Lamido, Speaker, Senators lose constituencies

It was a bad day for Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State and some prominent politicians in the North-West state on Saturday as they lost their constituencies during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, won in the constituencies of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains.
Others who lost their wards are the Speaker, Ahmed Adamu Sarawa, Senators Abdulmumini Zareko and Danladi Sankara.
Lamido lost in his Cheko Ward in Bamaina to Buhari.
At Zai polling units, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan got 36 votes while Buhari won with over 1,000 votes.
Buhari also won in Galamawa unit of Dutse Metropolitan with 1,750 as against Jonathan’s seven votes.
The APC is also leading in some senatorial and federal constituency units.
