The Ogun state Police Command and other security agencies have been petitioned by the Iwaye Dodo Ruling House of Ipokia, to save its family members and properties from one Bashir Olubi-Sodiq (Saolas) and others who have allegedly been threatening to assassinate and unleash terror on them.

The petition, contained in a ‘save our soul’ letter to the police Command and also addressed to the State Security Service, SSS and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, was coming on the heels of a ruling barring Yisa Olusola Olaniyan from parading himself as the Oba-Elect in the chieftaincy tussle for the position of the Onipokia of Ipokia in Ogun State.

The petition, signed by the representatives of Asade, Adekanbi, Okeleye and Oteni Royal Families of the Dodo Ruling House of Ipokia, accused
agents of the said Olaniyan, which include BASHIR OLUBI SADIQ (aka SAOLAS), SALAMI SOLIU (aka Akinrogun Maja), FAGBEMI LUKMAN (aka ILUMOYE) and WAKILU KUDETI (Abolly) of threatening to unleash mayhem, terror, injure and assinate eligible members of the Iwaye Dodo Ruling House to subdue them from pursuing their rights for the position of the Onipokia of Ipokia.

Excerpts from the petition read, “In an attempt to actualize their diabolic motif, Bashir Olubi Sodiq (aka SAOLAS) sent a message via the Ipokia Wayforward WhatsApp group that all members of the group should meet him at Ipokia Roundabout on the 22nd of October, 2019, for undisclosed reasons”.

“Since the declaration, members of the affected families have been in a state of anxiety. By this message, we envisage that the unlawful assembly is aimed at instigating the entire members and the likes against the smooth sitting of the State High Court, Ipokia on the ongoing Onipokia of Ipokia Obaship title litigation which has been fixed for hearing on the 22nd of October 2019.”

The petitioners alleged further that “they have equally heard severally from reliable sources that the convener of the obnoxious meeting has concluded all plans to ambush and kidnap representatives of the members of the Asade, Adekanbi and Oteni Royal families to prevent them from making appearances in the court for obvious reasons. It should be placed on record that Bashir Sadiq took this clandestine move as a result of the loss of the preliminary objections of the defendants in the ongoing suit”.

“In fact, we have been severally confronted by thugs affiliated to Bashir Olubi Sadiq (SAOLAS) who told us that they have the instructions of their pay masters to assassinate any marked member of the family as soon as they receive the “KILL ORDER”.

The Iwaye Dodo Ruling House said as law abiding citizens, they have refused to take the law into their hands and that is why they are calling on the security agencies to protect them and their families from aggressive confrontations of d agents of Yisa Olusola Olaniyan on the streets of Ipokia.

In their words, “we care for our lives and our loved ones and urge you to use your good offices to investigate the case and URGENTLY provide security support and protection for us and other members of our families in Ipokia community and elsewhere for peace to reign supreme throughout the litigation period and beyond”.
