Investors transact 894m shares worth N4.5b on NSE

NGX drops further by N301bn on losses by blue chips

nigerian_stock_exchangeInvestors at the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday bought 893.57 million shares worth N4.5 billion in 6,395 deals.

This was in contrast to the 177.52 million shares valued at N2.3 billion exchanged in 4,945 deals on Monday.

The All-Share Index also appreciated by 165.34 basis points or 0.44 per cent to close at 37,885.66, when compared with the 37,720.32 recorded on Monday.

Similarly, the market capitalisation, which opened at N11.945 trillion, appreciated by N53 billion or 0.44 per cent to close at N11.998 trillion.

7-UP topped the gainers’ chart by N4.91 to close at N64.90 per share.

Julius Berger gained N4.89 to close at N79.78 per share, while Flour Mills grew by N2.97 to close at N88 per share.

Unilever appreciated by N2.49 to close at N62.49 per share, while Nigerian Breweries share price increased by N2.05 to close at N170.05.

On the other hand, Lafarge Wapco led the price losers’ chart by N2.48 to close at N97.50 per share.

CAP dropped 95k to close at N45.05 per share, while Okomu Oil lost 85k to close at N45 per share.

GTBank depreciated by 62k to close at N25.90 per share, while Cadbury dipped by 55k to close at N52.05 per share.

Transcorp emerged as the investors’ delight as it traded 617.98 million shares valued at N865.09 million.

Sterlin Right followed with 36.99 million shares worth N2.22 million, while Zenith Bank sold 23.03million shares valued at N494.29 million.
