The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has replaced the late Adamu Musa, the candidate of Advance Democratic Congress ( ADC) for Kontagora II Constituency in the House of Assembly election in Niger, who died on Friday night.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Prof. Samuel Egwu , disclosed this on Saturday in Minna, Niger.
Egwu said Abubakar Musa replaced the late Adamu Musa who until his death was the candidate of the Advance Democratic Congress (ADC) for Kontagora 2 constituency.
Confirming the story, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr Festus Okoye, said the Commission was aware of the development, and that it gave the REC in Niger the permission to replace the deceased candidate.
