INEC deploys 21,947 personnel for Kogi, Bayelsa elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said no fewer than 21,947 personnel would be deployed for the conduct of upcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
The elections have been scheduled for November 21 in Kogi and December 5 in Bayelsa.
This is contained in the commission’s daily bulletin issued in Abuja on Thursday.
It said that 12,120 officials would be deployed to Kogi for the exercise while 9,827 would conduct the Bayelsa election.
A breakdown showed that in Kogi, a Returning Officer, 21 Local Government Area Collation Officers and 239 Registration Area Collation Officers would be involved in the election.
Others are 255 Supervisory Presiding Officers and 2,548 Presiding Officers, comprised mainly of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.
Also to participate in the election in the state, according to the publication, are 7, 644 Assistant Presiding Officers (I, II and III), 883 Assistant Presiding Officers (VP), 426 Reserve APOs, 22 LGA Supervisors and 80 Registration Area Cluster Supervisors.
For Bayelsa, it indicated that one Returning Officer, eight LGA Collation Officers, 105 Registration Area Collation Officers, and 180 Supervisory Presiding officers would be deployed.
Others are 1,804 Presiding Officers, 5,412 Assistant Presiding Officers (I,II, and III), 1,931 Assistant Presiding Officers (VP), 271 Reserve APOs, nine LGA Supervisors and 106 Registration Area Supervisors.
