Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Pedro Nwankwo, who made this known on Thursday, said the medical outreach was part of government’s effort towards ensuring that medical services reach the weak and elderly in rural areas in the state.

Nwankwo said that the free medical services for Awgu Central Development Center will hold at the Awgu Council Secretariat on Tuesday September 7, while that of Anike Development Centre will hold at the Central School Nkwe on Saturday, September 11.

For Mbanabo South Development Centre, the outreach will hold at Central School Owelli Court on September 18, while in Mbanabo North, the event will hold at Central School, Ihe on September 25.

He explained that the outreach, which will start by 10am each day, will cover medical lab services, dental services, physiotherapy services, medical consulation and treatments.

Gburuscare Initiative is a team of volunteers assembled by the Technical Assistant to Enugu State Governor on healthcare, Darlington Ugwuegbe. The team is made up of dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses, doctors and medical lab scientists.

The medical outreach kicked off on Thursday September 2nd at Eke-ama Iwe Village Square, Onoli.
