Bode Durojaiye, Oyo.

Elders, leaders and youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State are not happy with Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Reason: appointment of local government caretaker chairmen is lopsided and if the matter is not handled urgently and maturedly, they have threatened to defect from the party.
To them, some of those appointed by Ajimobi are “men with least mental magnitude and whose characters are so questionable that entrusting them with public offices would be disastrous”.
Freedom Online learned that 10 of the 17 local governments in Oyo, Ogbomoso and Oke-Ogun areas have rejected those imposed by Ajimobi, describing them as “persona non grata”.
The decision was reached by party leaders in conjunction with community leaders and concerned residents and they warned both the House of Assembly and the governor not to screen any of those rejected, let alone swear them into offices.
One of them told Freedom Online: “If our warnings are ignored and no redress effected, the governor should expect mass defection to a new party”.
He gave the example of one of those appointed who does not have the knowledge and educational background to cope with the expectations of the office.
To make good their threat of mass defection, series of meetings are already being held in Oke-Ogun.
“We are already meeting in Saki and Kisi towns”, he revealed to Freedom Online.
“Youths and leaders from Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iwajowa, Saki-East, Saki-West, Orelope, Irepo and Olorunsogo are waiting for the next line of action. We are not joking at all. The governor cannot just impose those who are not credible on us. We won’t accept it. Local government election is coming. It is then the governor will know that if he controls affairs in the capital in Ibadan, he won’t get a single vote here. If the governor wants to know, traditional rulers are with us in this fight. We know our area more than the governor so, he should not try us at all”.

@Eleyele, this is just a fake rumours, selection of the caretaker chairmen is a joint decision of gov. Ajimobi & party elders. Your write up is a traces of sectional intent of a group trying to create faction in the party because of your interest to work for a governorship candidate, this can not deter party members of APC in Oyo state because we are all one & Ajimobi is the leader, his decision remains party position & there is never any meeting of elders or group of youths anywhere in Oyo state on the rejection of the nominees as you mentioned it’s just a cooked information. So be warn Eleyele.
