Imo election: Supreme Court to hear Ihedioha’s appeal March 2

The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, adjourned until March 2, hearing in an application filed by Emeka Ihedioha, a former governor of Imo State, seeking a review of the January 14 judgement sacking him from office.
The apex court had sacked Ihedioha and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to give Certificate of Return to Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the validly-elected governor of the South-East state.
Not satisfied with the verdict, Ihedioha, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, approached the court to review its decision.
Since January 14, there have been series of protests across Imo State by aggrieved indigenes who believe Ihedioha defeated Uzodinma during the 2019 general elections.
