Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has promised to fulfill his campaign promises to the people by establishing programmes that are in tandem with the promises he made during the campaigns
The governor gave the promise on Tuesday in Umuahia, the state capital, in his message at the inauguration of Unemployed Youth Data Collection Initiative.
Represented by Mr Eme Okoro, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ikpeazu said his administration would embark on data collection of youths in the state to enable the government provide employment for them.
He urged youths to see themselves as the `strength and image’ of the state.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Endi Ezengwa, the facilitator, said the initiative was meant to harness the potential Abia youths.
He said that the initiative would be executed in three phases with data collection as the first phase.
According to him, data collection will be followed by training while the third phase would entail provision of capital to the participants to enable them commence their businesses.
