Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, on Monday, charged government officials to be prudent and committed in the discharge of their duties.
Ikpeazu gave the advice during the presentation on 17 Hyundai cars to chairmen of local governments of Abia State in Umuahia.
“With the global economy hitting hard on nations while oil price is steadily falling, this calls for prudent management of resources at our disposal as we commit tax payers’ money to acquire facilities for official duties.”
Ikpeazu said that the state government expected all its officials to be committed in their service to the people.
In his remark, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, who spoke on behalf of the chairmen, expressed gratitude for the kind gesture.
Onwusibe, who is the chairman of Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, pledged their loyalty and commitment to the state government.
