Ikhana shocked at Enyimba snub

Coach Kadiri Ikhana has described as shocking the Nigerian champions, Enyimba decision not to renew his contract.
The former Kwara United coach guided the two-time African champions to a record seventh league title on unprecedented 70 points in the out gone 2014/15 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The experienced tactician did not get the nod of the top hierarchy of Enyimba to have his contract renewed based on alleged uncompromising stand on technical matters.
Ikhana said he never believed, in his wildest dream, that the management will tinker on contract renewal based on almost flawless campaign in the immediate past league season.
“Honestly, I’m shocked at the decision of Enyimba not to renew my contract, the shock of that singular decision is yet to leave me as we speak right now.

“I was not expecting it at least we performed creditably well in the last league season to deserve a continuation.

“Maybe I have offended somebody unknowingly I cannot say but there is always a better way of correcting wrongdoing not exactly the approach they adopted.

“I’m baffled maybe I will live with the bad experience in the New Year or for some time to come.

“However, I think that’s my fate and I have accepted it wholeheartedly,” said the former Kano Pillars and Nasarawa United coach to supersport.com.

Ikhana guided the People’s Elephant to win Nigeria’s first ever CAF Champions League title in 2003.
