Ideye gives Dynamo Kiev’s quit notice

brown_ideyeNigeria international Brown Ideye has disclosed that he could well quit Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev in January.

The former Sochaux of France striker was linked with a big-money move in the summer with clubs like Newcastle United, Chelsea and Swansea in the English Premier League being mentioned.

However, he has stayed put at Dynamo but has now hinted he could be on the move by the next transfer window in January.

“I had a lot of offers, but my club didn’t want to sell. I think I am the only big-profile player in the club right now so any team who want my services would have to be ready to break the bank,” he said.

“I guess that was why I didn’t make a move at the last transfer window because I had so many offers, but right now I am just looking forward to the next window so I could know what to decide on.”

At the weekend, the Nigeria striker scored his first league goal this season when he came off the bench to grab a late winner against Karpaty.

The 24-year-old Ideye joined Dynamo in 2011 on a five-year deal from French club Sochaux.

The former Ocean Boys star has so far scored 30 goals in 61 appearances for the Kiev outfit.

Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, returned to goalscoring ways in Ukraine on Sunday by scoring the winner in Dynamo Kyiv’s 1-0 win over Karpaty Lviv in the Premier League.

Ideye’s finish on 85 minutes secured the points from a very nervy game and the Nigeria celebrated the effort with a sommersault.

His teammate, Jeremain Lens was delivered a cross into the Lviv area but Andriy Yarmolenko’s header was beaten out towards the path of Ideye by goalkeeper, Oleksandr Ilyuschenko.

Ideye reacted in lightening fashion and poked home from three yards to record his first league goal of the season.

The striker who scored 17 league goals for Dynamo Kyiv last season has netted five times in 19 internationals for Nigeria.
