The West Bromwich Albion manager, Tony Pulis, had kind words for his Nigerian superstar Brown Ideye, after the striker netted in the club’s 2-2 draw with Burnley in the Barclays English Premier League on Sunday.
Ideye made the most of poor marking to head home Chris Brunt’s corner in the 67th minute as the Baggies came back from two goals down to claim a share of the spoils at Turf Moor.

Pulis spoke to the West Bromwich Albion YouTube Channel after the game and expressed his joy at seeing Ideye score.

Ideye was linked with a move to Qatari club, Al Gharafa, in January with West Ham United striker, Carlton Cole, earmarked as the Nigerian’s replacement.

Pulis confirmed that the move was on the cards and also revealed that Ideye’s compatriot, who lasted just 18 minutes in Sunday’s game at Turf Moor because of a groin injury.

“We were looking to get a striker (in January).

“Victor (Anichebe) hurt his groin in the warm-up. We tried to take a chance on him but he couldn’t move,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ideye took to social media shortly after Sunday’s game to voice his sentiments on the points shared at Turf Moor.

“Difficult game today but thank God we came back strong, great job from all the lads.

Ideye, who is the record signing of WBA (£10 million from Ukrainian club, Dynamo Kyiv) has scored three goals in 19 appearances for the Baggies in all competitions this season.
