Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has described the late Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, as a charismatic personality that would be missed by the people of Ibadan and Oyo State.

This is contained in a condolence statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media, Moses Alao.

Makinde expressed his condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, and the Olubadan-in-Council over the death of Oba Adebimpe, who died on Wednesday.

He commiserated with the immediate family of the royal father and the people of Ibadanland.

He prayed to God to grant repose to the soul of the Oba, while also granting his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Oba Adebimpe died on Wednesday afternoon after a brief illness.

It is expected that his remains will be buried on Thursday at his Odinjo family compound in Ibadan.

The late Ibadan high chief represented Olubadan, Oba Abimbola Olakulehin at the inauguration of a new Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo Ibadan, on July 10.

The deceased was, however, absent at the coronation of Oba Olakulehin held at Mapo Hall, Oja Oba Ibadan on July 12.
