A Kaduna based lady, Amina Tijjani, 27, said that she made more gains via online sales of veil and other female accessories.
Tijjani, a housewife and founder of an online boutique, Zahira Collections, Said on Sunday in Kaduna, that she produced veil and showcased them online.
She said the online platform availed her opportunity to upload pictures and videos of the products to attract customers, adding that, “I’m enjoying appreciable patronage.
“I started the business of veil making as a result of my passion for fashion design. Subsequently; I joined an online class to learn the skills during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Initially, I made a veil for my personal use, a lot of people admired it and requested me to produce it for them, thereafter, I started posting it on my WhatsApp status.
“Since I started the business, I fend for my needs without depending on my spouse and family,” she said.
The prospective entrepreneur said she started the business with N20,000 seed capital to produce veil in commercial quantity.
Tijjani said that she produced veil through online requests and deliver it to customers across the country, adding that she made an average sales of N80,000 worth of veils, and gain between N30,000 and N50,000 monthly.
She, however, said that lack capital was the major challenge affecting the trade, and expressed the hope that her business would grow into multi-million enterprises.
Tijjani said that she also trained about 1,000 youth and women on veil making using online modules, and urged the beneficiaries to engage in productive activities to enable them to become self-reliant.
