I can’t guarantee Oyinlola’s return as PDP scribe – Filani

olagunsoye_oyinlolaChief Ishola Filani, the South-West Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, on Tuesday said that he could not guarantee the return of former Gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola as the party’s National Secretary.

Filani told newsmen in Ibadan after an expanded South West PDP meeting that while the post of secretary had been zoned to Osun, it was unclear whether Oyinlola could re-contest for it.

“ Though the position of PDP National Secretary is still zoned to Osun State. It is not clear if he can still vie for the position again,” Filani said.

Oyinlola was removed as the National Secretary following a court order.

Filani also said that the essence of the meeting held at the zonal office in Ibadan was to fine-tune plans on how the party could regain Ekiti and Osun states in the 2014 election.

He further said there was no opposition to the zone’s endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in 2015.

Filani disclosed that the crisis in the PDP had been resolved, adding that “ the party is now one big family.”

He described the forum initiated by the former National Deputy Chairman (South) of the party, Bode George, as an “ elders meeting.’’

“ Bode George and others at the meeting apologised for their absence at the meeting,’’ he added.
