A humanitarian, Dr Gabriel Maduabuchi,  has called for proper care of medical doctors to curb the continued brain drain in the nation’s health care sector.

He made this known on Sunday during the inauguration of ‘True1Home Health Agency’, a health care service provider located in Umuahia, Abia.

The U.S-based medical doctor said that health personnel were leaving the shores of Nigeria in droves because of their poor welfare among others.

“When you pay them well they are going to stay, when you take care of your child he will stay.

“I think the doctors need to be taken care of and they will not go anywhere,” he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of the center disclosed that erecting the facility in Umuahia was an opportunity to help his people as well as bring exceptional health care close home.

Maduabuchi said that the agency would provide a wide range of services in pharmacy, laboratory, family clinic and home health care training cum consulting unit.

He also said that it would be focused on providing quality and exceptional care to the people in the comfort of their homes.

According to Maduabuchi, who is the President of Hope Foundation International, a non-governmental humanitarian group, what we see in US we want to bring close to our people to enjoy.

He said that he would continue to invest in Abia because he believed the state had the potential for greatness.

He equally encouraged other Abia indigenes in abroad to come back and invest in the state.

“We will provide exceptional care and I believe that we will offer one of the top notch care that you can see in Nigeria.’

“The charges will be very moderate and people should be able to access care here,” he assured.

A traditional ruler, Eze Uchendu Okorie, Ekwo II of Akaekwo Uzuakoli, Bende council area, Abia, lauded Maduabuchi, for bringing health care close to the people.

He said that the doctor, who is also a cleric, had touched many lives positively through his humanitarian services.
