Quoting a renowned political philosopher, Plato, Professor Omoregbe argued that the best way to develop the country is by allowing people to do what they have been trained to do.

The Vice – Chancellor of the university, Professor Christopher Odetunde, congratulated the students for making it to AUI.

He said he has special interest in Political Science because” that is the direction in the country”.

Professor Odetunde urged the students to be studious and change the political narratives in Nigeria.

The Vice Chancellor stated that everything humanly possible must be done to make the students the best political scientists in Nigeria.
” We should make the students the best for themselves, the best for their parents and the best for the nation”.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Political Science Department, Dr.Daniel Ogbeide, told the students that “our desire is not to allow you become an ‘ arm-chair ‘ critic and ‘ beer- parlour ‘ analyst but rather a constructive critic and objective analyst.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Adesola Ajayi, congratulated the staff and students of the Department on the successful programme.

She urged the students to face their studies very well.

The Registrar of the University, Mrs Margaret Aziba, assured the department of necessary support by the university.
