A housewife, Mrs Hauwa Abba, 29, on Wednesday sued her husband Haruna Muhammad, at Sharia Court I, Magajin Gari, Kaduna, asking the court to dissolve their marriage.
Hauwa told the court that her husband, who went to the United States (U.S.) six years ago, left her without care and physical attention.
“Whenever I complain to him over the phone, his reply was that only death can do us apart.
“I have spent N50,000 sending summons from the court twice, through DHL and I have evidence that shows that he received the summons, yet he refused to come over or at least send someone on his behalf.
“I don’t want to fall into temptation, I want the court to terminate our marriage,” she told the court.
The judge, Dahiru Lawal, ordered the complainant to come along with her witnesses on April 15,  for them to testify on how long the defendant had been away in the U.S.
The Judge also ordered the complainant to come along with evidence of the summons sent to the defendant through DHL.
