Heavily-armed policemen storm PDP headquarters to stop NEC, BoT, Caucus meetings

Heavily-armed police personnel, on Monday morning, took over the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
It is believed the move was aimed at preventing the holding of three crucial meetings slated to begin today.
They are National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting and Caucus meeting.
Governors, elders and officers of the party started arriving the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday, only to wake up on Monday to behold the sight of security agents around the vicinity.

All roads leading to the Wadata Plaza party office were blocked with the policemen telling drivers to turn back.
The policemen were strategically positioned everywhere. Party workers could not even gain access to the building.
A member of BoT, who confirmed the development, said he had contacted the National Chairman and other officials and they denied inviting the officers.
He alleged that loyalists of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, may be responsible for the siege “to prevent the party from taking important decisions against those working against the interest of PDP”.
