The Kwara Government says a healthy citizenry is a pre-requisite for socio-economic transformation.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Kayode Alabi, said this on Friday while inaugurating and delivering medical equipment to Ijagbo Comprehensive Healthcare Centre in Oyun Local government Area of the state.
According to him, the promotion of healthy citizenry is one of the reasons for the administration’s upgrades of healthcare facilities across the 16 local government areas of Kwara.
He congratulated the Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Sarafadeen Adeniyi Babalola, Ijagbo Descendants Union North America, and the entire people of Ijagbo Community on the presentation of medical equipment to the newly renovated Ijagbo Comprehensive Health Centre.
Alabi commended the Ijagbo Descendant Union North America for its commitment to developing the Ijagbo Community, adding that the gesture is remarkable and demonstrates support and partnership with the Kwara government to actualize improved health care.
“Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration will continue to prioritize healthcare and invest in the primary and secondary health facilities across the state,” he said.
The deputy governor therefore enjoined the management of the facility to make good use of the medical equipment to save lives and improve the health condition of Ijagbo community and environs.
The National President of Ijagbo Descendants Union North America, Mr Yinka Dipe, assured that Ijagbo community is ready to collaborate with the state government in actualizing policies to facilitate delivery of healthcare services to the grassroots and to support the the state as may be required.
