Gbade Olatana, the proprietor Youth Alive Basketball Academy said that the Junior league would be bigger than it has been in the past.

He said that he was proud of the successes the league achieved since it was created in 2013.

Olatana told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday, that the products of the league have achieved so much success at the local and international scenes.

He said that most notable was Charles Bassey who currently plies his trade in the U.S National Basketball Association (NBA) for San Antonio Spurs.

Olatana said he was proud of his achievement having developed through the Youth Alive Basketball League system.

He said that Bassey having visited Nigeria once after he became a superstar, would live to come back to the country and invest in youth development projects.

“We can assure everyone that Bassey would be investing in youth games, he developed through the Youth Alive League and would definitely love to give back.

“As the proprietor of the league I am proud to have one of our products playing top flight basketball in the U.S., he said.

He said that he would reach out to more schools to more youths involved in basketball ever than before.

Olatana said he would be reaching out especially to  schools with good level of Physical and Health Studies going along with the general classroom studies.

He said that most schools lacked the push to encourage youths, especially public schools in the hinterlands, but once we reach out to them we would achieve more.
