Governors may pay N70,000 minimum wage

Governors will not pay more than N70,000 as minimum wage, Freedom Online learned on Thursday night.
In fact, three governors from the North kicked against the new proposal, insisting that they can’t pay more than N50,000.
A source said a South-East governor, who is close to President Bola Tinubu, persuaded them to accept the new proposal “and adjust your finances accordingly” because Edo State is already paying N70,000.
After a heated debate, the governors, during the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting in Abuja, agreed to the new proposal.
“In fact, they ruled out N100,000 or N105,000 being proposed in some quarters”.
