Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved a subsidy of N500,000 for each of the state intending pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Lamin Dan-Baffa, the Director-General of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, said this when he briefed newsmen on Wednesday in Kano.

“Considering the current economic hardship the people are facing, increase in the Hajj fare is a great challenge to many intending pilgrims. The subsidy is to alleviate their sufferings.

“Those who have already paid part-payment to the board will benefit from the subsidy as  over 2,900 intending pilgrims have already paid to the board, ” he said.

Dan-Baffa urged all intending pilgrims to ensure that they paid the remaining balance before March 28 as directed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
