Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has appointed Mrs Elsie Peters as the Head of Service for the state, following the retirement of Mr Effiong Essien from service.

The appointment is contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Enobong Uwah, in Uyo, and made available to newsmen on Monday.

In another development, the governor relieved two of his aides of their positions, with immediate effect.

The affected aides included Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Services, Mr Joseph Ikpak, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Neighbourhood Watch, Mr Felix Ekuri.

Uwah disclosed the disengagement of the aides in separate statement.

According to him, the measure was part of the administration’s restructuring and alignment towards the success of the Renewed Hope and Arise Agenda of the State Government.
