Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has felicitated Salihu Mohammed-Alkali of Radio Nigeria, on his re-election as Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Mohammed-Alkali, Chairman,  Sunday John, Secretary,  and other members of the executive were re-elected for a second term on July 20.

The governor in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen on Monday in Lafia, said the re-election was as a result of the developmental strides of the Mohammed-Alkali-led administration in the last three years.

Sule said that he received the news on the re-election of the leadership of NUJ in the state with great joy.

According to the governor,  the information available to him indicates that this is the first time in the history of NUJ in the state that the officials are re-elected unopposed.

He added that there was peace among journalists in the state throughout the period that Mohammed-Alkali-led administration served as officials in the state.

Sule acknowledged the support his administration had enjoyed from journalists in the state since  assumption as governor in 2019.

The governor assured that his administration would create an enabling environment for journalists to practice in the state without intimidation.
