The head Pastor of Divine Favour Prayer Assembly Ministries, Mowe, Ogun State, Dr. Tayo Popoola, has described the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross as a promise fulfilled by God.

Ministering on Friday morning at the headquarters of the church on the theme: Follow ye after me – Mk 1:17, Popoola said the death of Christ on Good Friday marked the climax of redemptive programme of God for mankind on the Cross of Calvary.

He attributed the coming of Christ to the failure of the first covenant, adding that “with Christ’s death on the Cross, the world should celebrate him every day because before him and after, there would not be death of such again in the history of mankind.

Popoola identified the incidence in Gen 3: 1-6 as the foundation of the faulty nature of the first covenant.

He noted that till date, fake news and misinformation are major satanic weapons aborting God’s plans from generation to generation.

The cleric further identified the fake report by the spies that explored the Canaanland as a follow-up to the incidence in the Garden of Eden.

He warned Nigerians of the consequences of spreading fake news and misinformation adding that ” those who spread the fake news and misinformed the Israelites all died in the wilderness “.

He stated that God’s anger is always upon the purveyors of fake news as well as those who receive it stressing that “those who are spreading it should better desist”.

As Christians all over the world mark Easter 2022, the cleric urged Nigerians to emulate Apostle Paul who said in Gal 2:20 that “I have been crucified with Christ”.
He prayed for the peace of the nation while urging God to touch the heart of Government for early resolution of the on- going strike embarked upon by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
