Giwa takes over NFF Glass House

Armed with a court order, Ambassador Christopher Giwa, on Friday, stormed the headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja.

After a few minutes, he took over the premises with aides and staff of the Federation paying him obeisance.

Giwa claimed he acted on an order from a Jos High Court, which he duely delivered to the FCT Police Commissioner and other relevant authorities before he moved to the Glass House.

“I just came here to say it’s a new dawn for Nigerian football, an all inclusive regime that we will run together”, he told Secretariat staff and journalists.

He assured that as a law-abiding citizen, he had to wait for the law to take its effects before he resumes office as the NFF President, while also assuring that he does hold any grudge neither will he dismantle progressive statutes that are on ground at the NFF.

He, however, assured of massive purge of the NFF to bring about the much-needed change that Nigerians have been clamouring for in all spheres of the round-leather game.

He also described as false the report that he, alongside his team, broke into the Glass House.

“The media was here, fully represented, security agencies were on ground to supervise a court order, so why do we need to break into any office for effective control? That is a lie from those concerned and we have already made our reaction to relevant security agencies and those concerned should be answering questions soon”.
