Since April 1, 2001 when The Netherlands legalised same-sex marriage, some countries, especially in the Western world, have followed suit.
Last Friday, in a controversial ruling, five Justices of the United States (U.S.) Supreme Court in Washington D.C. overwhelmed the remaining four and made same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states in ‘God’s Own Country’.

South Africa is the only African country that has joined the group.
