Emmanuel Ugwuanyi Foundation says it has donated a 500KVA transformer to Owerre Obukpa community in Nsuka Local Government Area of Enugu State as residents have been living in darkness for over four years.

The Chairman of the foundation, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi, said this while speaking with  Newsmen  in Abuja.
Charles, the Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Federal Capital Territory (NMA-FCT) and the Managing Director, Wellington Clinic, Abuja said that the gift was to help and address electricity challenges facing people in the community.
He said that the community had been in darkness due to a faulty transformer,
adding that the donation was a long-awaited victory for the residents.
According to him, Owerre Obukpa community is known for its vibrant Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMSE), and has been grappling with significant economic setbacks due to the prolonged power outage.
He expressed joy for the restoration of power in the community, adding that residents were now elated because the community had been deprived of the privilege for more than four years.
According to him, Owerre Obukpa is a very enterprising community with a lot of small and medium-scale enterprise and had suffered so much due to lack of power supply.
He said that with the restoration of power supply in the community, the youths are expected to engage in their trade, adding that It would also increase skills acquisition and reduce the rate of crime in the community.
He stated that the restoration of power, which was effective from July 1, would be a turning point for all and sundry in the community.
He added that residents were hopeful that it would mark the beginning of sustainable economic growth and improved social well-being.
According to him, the local community is committed to working together to ensure the power supply is maintained and any  disruption is promptly addressed.
NAN recalled that NMA-FCT boss
had in early this year delivered a solar inverter project to Association of Resident Doctors, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (ARD -UATH) through Wellington  Clinic.
He said the gesture was part of the association’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
He said that he made a promise to provide solar inverter to the association before he assumed office as the Chairman of NMA FCT, and he fulfilled the pledge.
He said that he was determined to add value to the chain of humanity, while charging other well meaning Nigerians to also emulate such gesture.
