Ford Motors take centre stage at Maiden Eko Atlantic Polo

The Ford Motor Company, through its dealer, Coscharis Motors, showcased a range of its vehicles at the just concluded Eko Atlantic Beach Polo Tournament which took place at the Eko Atlantic Beach, Lagos where some of the nation’s most experienced polo players are competed in a four-day tournament with the Lagos Polo team emerging winners.
The vehicles included the all-new 2015 Mustang, the full size cross over utility vehicle, Ford Flex; the super fuel economy SEDAN Ford Fusion, and the compact cross over, Ford Escape. Customers and guests at the event had the opportunity to experience the vehicles through test drives and one-on-one interactions with the sales team.
“Ford is a brand that loves sports!” said Felix Mahan, Brand Manager, Coscharis Motors. “Ford has been involved in many sporting activities worldwide including the European Championship, International Lawn Tennis Tournament, and Formula One.” The game of Polo is one of such sports loved by our priority audience and as such, we decided to be a part of the biggest Polo tournament by bringing closer to them the cars they love to drive,” he said.
The iconic Mustang, which made its first public showcase in Nigeria at the tournament, features a significant amount of innovative technologies providing drivers with enhanced information, control and connectivity. “We are here to showcase our brands as sporty vehicles. The Mustang for one is represented by a racing horse which signifies agility, speed and strength.” Mahan also revealed that the Mustang will be officially unveiled in the coming quarter.
On the co-sponsorship of the Polo Tournament, Mahan said, “Ford identifies with laudable projects geared towards the development of sports in Lagos State. We are establishing an emotional connection with our customers by tapping into their passion for the game of polo.”
The tournament had eighteen expert polo riders and dozens of horses took part in the glamorous event that saw Lagos Polo team emerge champions after a 5-4 victory over the Power Horse team. Caverton team emerged second runners-up beating Veuve Cliquot with a 5-0 score line.
