Chizoma Chukwueke, the CEO of Firewood Jollof, announced on Friday that the inaugural Firewood Jollof Festival will take place on November 30, 2024, at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos.

Chukwueke revealed that the festival would be an annual event, with plans to expand to other parts of Nigeria in the future.
She emphasized the distinctiveness of firewood jollof rice, highlighting its unique smoky flavour that sets it apart from other types of jollof rice. This festival aims to honour and preserve the rich heritage of Nigerian cuisine, which she believes is losing its authentic smoky taste.

Firewood Rice Nigeria, established in 2015, is a prominent food restaurant and corporate catering service based in Lagos. The press conference featured several notable attendees, including food and lifestyle blogger, Yemisi Sophie Odusanya, known as Sisi Yemmie, and influencer, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, among others.
