Treasury House, the building housing the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) in Abuja, is in flames.
Located beside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in Garki, Freedom Online learned that the fire was noticed by some security agents enforcing the stay-at-home order.
Immediately, they raised the alarm, prompting some people to call personnel of the Federal and FCT Fire Service.
Workers are currently at home observing the lockdown because of COVID-19.
The office of the Accountant-General and others are affected. It is not clear if files are burnt.
“The fire started from the third floor, spiraling up”, said an eyewitness.
Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire.
Security agents have cordoned off the area.
