Head Coach of the Falconets, Peter Dedevbo, on Monday, said he expected their South African opponents to give them a good fight in the final round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Dedevbo said in Abuja that the team would do everything necessary to put up a good performance in the first leg against their opponents.

Falconets are billed to meet South Africa in the qualifiers’ final round, with the first leg billed to hold on January 11 at the Abuja National Stadium.

“In this final stage of the qualifiers, I have no fear at all, South Africa is not better than us and there is no South African team that is better than us. They can only give us a good match that is what I know.

“ The preparation has been good, we are entering into the week of the match so we are rounding up our preparations, and so far the team is in good shape,’’he said.

Dedevbo said four new players have been invited to camp, alongside one goal keeper bringing the total number of players in camp to 28.

He added that the new players were among the best in the women’s league, and they are expected to bring their wealth of experience to the field of play

The players are, Florence David of Kogi Confluence Queens FC, Grace Henry of Ibom Angels FC and Ugo Ujoku of Bayelsa Queens FC.

Others are Olukayode Abosede of Bayelsa Queens FC and Loveth Ayilla of Belarus FC.

The 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to hold in Canada in August.
