Following the exploits of his team to the Afrobasket U-16 Women’s Championship in Madagascar in July, 2015, Nigeria’s U-16 Women’s team coach, Adeka Daudu has been selected by the sport’s African body, FIBA Africa to attend an all-expense paid coaching course in France.
Secretary General of FIBA Africa, Alphonse Bile, in a letter to the president of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, Tijjani Umar, dated September 3, 2015 said, “I would like to inform you that FIBA Africa has selected Mr. Daudu, coach of the Nigeria U-16 women to attend the Basketball Coaches training called “Euro-colloque” to be held from September 17 to 19, 2015 in Lille, France.”

According to Mr. Bile, “His participation fee as well as those of his stay and transportation will be covered by FIBA Africa,” adding that, FIBA Africa would also provide all necessary documents to enable him procure his travelling visa from the French Embassy in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Coach Daudu led a depleted Nigerian U-16 team of nine players against 12 by other countries to the final of the 2015 Afrobasket U-16 Championship where they lost to four-time winners, Mali in the final to pick one of the two tickets to the World U-17 Championship slated to hold next year in Spain.
