Enzo Fernandez scored a stunning free-kick to help Chelsea secure a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool took the lead early in the match, with Ryan Gravenberch netting in the sixth minute. However, Chelsea responded in the 35th minute with Fernandez’s equalizer from a free-kick.

Both teams had goals ruled out for offside, while Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai and captain Virgil van Dijk hit the woodwork as they pressed for a late winner. Despite their efforts, Liverpool couldn’t find a second goal, and the match ended in a draw.

This result ended Chelsea’s six-match losing streak in the Premier League and provided caretaker manager Calum MacFarlane with his first point since taking charge of the club.

Chelsea now sit in ninth place with 49 points from 36 games, while Liverpool remain in fourth place with 59 points, edging closer to securing a Champions League spot.

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella reflected on the match, telling TNT Sports: “We aren’t happy because we wanted the three points, but we are happy that we showed we’re a really good team if we put in the effort and fight together. Hopefully, we can learn from this game and perform well in these final matches.”
