Femi Kuti, Bella Shmurda, and CDQ on Thursday delivered unforgettable performances, keeping the crowd dancing and partying all night in celebration of the ongoing ‘Felabration’ musical concert at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ongoing concert, with theme, “Look and Laugh”, started on Oct. 14 and will end Oct. 20.

The concert is an annual musical festival in memory and celebration of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

It was an unforgettable night of excitement as the artistes energised the Afrika Shrine with electrifying performances.

Femi Kuti performed his hit singles as “Bang Bang Bang”, “Sorry Sorry”, “Truth don end”, while Bella Shmurda sang his hits which includes “New Born Fela”, and “Cash app” amongst others.

Some fun seekers who spoke to NAN expressed excitement in witnessing the live performances of some of their favourite artistes.

Mr Siji Bello, a student, expressed his excitement in attending the concert noting that it helps in relaxing his body and soul.

“I had never had the chance to see Femi Kuti perform live before, so, as soon as I found out about the event, I made sure to be here. His performance has been incredible; I’m enjoying every moment and wish it wouldn’t end so I could experience more of it,” he said.

Amina Momoh, who attended the event with her female friends, emphasised that new artistes should focus on mastering live performances rather than relying on miming.

“The new generation of artistes need to learn how to perform live instead of miming when on stage.

“There’s a unique energy in live performances, as Femi Kuti has shown us tonight. We’ve been dancing all night long because live shows bring a different vibe.”

Also, Mr Joseph Atah, expressed how uplifting the performance was for him.

“This performance has been amazing and has helped me mentally, especially since the last few days have been tough. It really helped to calm my spirits.

“Events like this have a way of changing one’s mood, and I’m glad I made it, even though I was hesitant due to the distance,” he said.

Cynthia Okeke applauded the performance and encouraged organisers to hold more free shows.

“Organisers shouldn’t stop the annual celebration of Felebration as it helps the mood of many young people in the country.

“These shows also provide great networking opportunities, helping people connect and create bonds that could lead to new opportunities.”
