Malam Abubakar Evuti, the newly appointed Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has taken over the mantle of leadership of the board, enjoining the staffers to be honest in discharging their duties.

Evuti took over the leadership of the board from the former director, Malam Muhammad Danmallam, who was redeployed to Abuja Environmental Protection Board by the FCT Administration.

Its spokesperson, Malam Muhammad Aliyu, said in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja that Evuti warned the staffers against any act capable of tarnishing the image of the FCT Administration and the country at large.

The director called for the cooperation all staffers and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the hajj exercises in line with the desire of the present administration.

He stressed the need for the personnel to be dedicated to their duty, abide by rules and regulations of the service, adding that the administration would not condone any act of corruption and indiscipline.

Evuti reassured the commitment of the FCT Administration to add more value to the management and welfare of pilgrims as well as provide first class services to the FCT contingent to ensure a hitch free hajj operation in 2023 and beyond.

Earlier, Danmallam sought forgiveness from those whom he might have wronged in the course of carrying out his assignment during his tenure.

Danmallam, who appreciated the support and cooperation accorded to him by the staffers throughout his tenure, called on them to extend the same gesture to the new leadership of the board.

He also called them to be honest in dealing with the pilgrims and discharge their duties with utmost seriousness as well as desist from any act capable of tarnishing the image of the FCT Administration

Until his appointments, Evuti was the Director of Operations of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for over four years.

He hails from Lapai Local Government Area of Niger and  he graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto with B.A. Hons. History in 1988.

Evuti obtained a Masters degree in History and Diplomatic studies from University of Abuja and joined the Services of FCT Administration in 1990.
