What led to the death of a father, mother, uncle and two children in their house?
Was it physical or spiritual?
Who could be responsible for this terrible death?
Those were the questions on the lips of residents of Isale-Oyo community, Atiba Local Government, Oyo State on Wednesday when the family members were found dead inside their house in mysterious circumstance.
Freedom Online learned that the deceased parents had just completed their new house and moved in with the children on Tuesday for the Sallah celebration, preparatory for house-warming on Wednesday.
The family was said to have celebrated the Sallah with friends, relations and neighbours with merry making, after which the head of the family, who was in a joyful mood and whose name could not be immediately ascertained as at press time, invited the guests to the warming of the new house the next day.
On the next day, neighbours and relations were said to have besieged the residence as early as 7 am to greet and felicitate with them on the newly-built house.
But they were surprised that despite repeated knocks on the door, nobody came out to attend to them.
All efforts to gain entrance proved abortive, as both the door and windows were under lock and key.
The situation was said to have created worry and anxiety in the people who eventually forced the door open.
One of the neighbours said: “We could not believe what we saw. It was indeed agonizing, sorrowful and pathetic. We all celebrated with them yesterday (Tuesday) only for us to come back today to meet their corpses. There was no generating set. Also, no marks on their bodies. So, what led to their death?
“It is unbelievable. It is like watching a movie. The deceased
father yesterday (Tuesday) played with our children all over the place and greeted parents in their respective homes for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. How come he and their family were found dead at the same time?”
Security agents later took the bodies to the mortuary.
